A gated pipeline for an AI-generated film
An internal R&D production asking one question: can a film be made with generative tools at predictable quality? We built the production as a system of quality gates — every shot passes formal checkpoints before it reaches the edit.

The hypothesis
- Generative production fails quietly: plausible-looking shots that don’t serve the film slip into the edit
- Without formal acceptance criteria, iteration burns resources without converging
- The question: does a gate system make generative filmmaking predictable?
What we built
- A production pipeline of eight gates (G0–G7) with formal acceptance criteria at every stage
- Acceptance at each gate — a shot either passes or goes back
- An independent audit of the process after the production run
Findings
The audited run confirmed the pipeline productive; the audit logged nine findings that became the plan for the next iteration.
